28 Weeks and Counting...
The common phrase or comment from last week "I didn't know you were pregnant!" or "Wow, your belly is finally starting to pop!" I feel as though my belly is growing everyday and I know I still have MUCH more growing to do. Reid is kicking up a storm now and I felt him get the hiccups (at least I am almost positive they were) the other day. I cannot wait for the day to hold the little guy in my hands!

Proud Wife
Last week Kevin graduated from the OC Park Ranger Academy. The original graduation was scheduled for before the holidays, but had to be postponed due to the rain. I was so honored to pin his badge during the ceremony. What a special moment it was! It was a long 15 weeks of classes and training for him. I am so glad for him to be finished (and so is he). Now he has a normal schedule during the week at Casper's Park- 4 days on and 3 days off. Kev I am so proud of you for finishing another academy. I know it wasn't easy with all the studying and work on top of that. All your hard work paid off. OC Parks is lucky to have you as one of their Rangers.

SELFLESS
This week marks 6 months! I cannot believe I am two thirds of the way through this pregnancy. I have been one lucky pregnant woman. No illness, still working out at least 4 times a week, good energy level, and feeling great. My belly is definitely getting bigger and uncomfortable at times, but I can't complain. I am just waiting for the day when I bonk one of my students in the head with my belly trying to get between the desks and chairs, then I know it is big. My doctors appointment went well last week, short and sweet. Just have to take my glucose test by my next appointment and then I think I will start going twice a month-crazy!
Today is also a day of remembrance or we like to say a "Celebration" of two people's life. Two years ago two amazing individuals went to Heaven. We miss you Bill and Patrick Rooney. For those of you that do not know, Patrick was a good friend of ours from Pepperdine. Kevin played baseball with him and they were also roommates. Patrick and his father were killed in a tragic plane crash back in 2009. It still brings tears to my eyes to think about the time we found out about the accident. It has taught Kevin and I many Godly lessons, even though we may never understand WHY it happened to such amazing people and at such a young age. We still stay in close contact with Patrick's mom, brothers, wife and kids. They are truly amazing individuals who have inspired us and so many others. This leads to our little boys name. It is significant to this day and we wanted to wait to tell everyone as a form of honor to Patrick. So our baby boy will be named.....
REID PATRICK ESTRADA
We felt that there is no better middle name for our little boy! We love you Rooney family and continue to pray for you each and everyday.

Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year! Kevin and I are beyond thrilled for 2011 and cannot wait for our little man to be here in April.
This week we got our baby furniture, which makes it even more real and exciting. Also, baby boy is moving, kicking, doing somersaults, etc. more often and is much stronger now. If you look carefully at my stomach when he is moving you can see a quick movement. If you blink, you will miss it. We have our monthly doctors appointment on Tuesday and hope for a healthy check-up. I can't believe I'm already in the 6th month of pregnancy and almost to the third trimester. Where does the time go?

Spoiled Baby Boy!
Baby Boy isn't even here yet and he already got so spoiled this Christmas. He is so fortunate to have such a loving family. He even got his "special" blanket from Grandma (my mom). This is going to be such a cherished item for our little guy-I know! It was a different Christmas this year because Kevin had to work. He missed out on my families traditional Christmas breakfast. After our breakfast my dad, mom, brother, and I went to visit him at the park with lunch and his presents. Then he got to come to my Grandma's for dinner. I am hoping next year he will have the day off, especially with the little one. Today I started organizing some things and getting his room cleared out. He was in need of some closet space. We just need to move/sell some furniture and we will be ready for the baby furniture, which we still need to find.
New Flip Video!
OCD kicked in today....I took down all of our Christmas decorations and put them away for next year. I usually wait some time to take it all down, but this year there is a little different feeling. Don't get me wrong, I hate to see Christmas come and go so quickly, but I am just more excited for baby boy. I am ready to get his room all ready. As I took everything down, I kept thinking, next years holiday season is going to be so great with the little guy around. Can't Wait!

'Tis the Season
This will be the first year in our new home for Christmas. It has been so much fun decorating, especially the outside. We didn't go "Christmas Vacation" style, but plan to pick up some more decorations after the holidays. It is so great driving in our complex and seeing all the other houses decorated too. Here are some pictures of our decorated house.
Today we went to the high risk pregnancy doctor to get a fetal echo ultrasound to check out baby boys heart. I was pretty nervous and have been all week. We got to see some pretty neat pictures of him, but he was being stubborn and covering his face with his hands and feet (yes, his feet). He still has the spot on his heart which increases his risk for down syndrome from 1 and 2000 to 1 and 1500. We could choose to have an amniocentesis test done, which checks for the extra chromosome in the amniotic fluid. We chose not to have this test earlier and we still will not have it done. It is in God's hands. The doctor said it is very common. Kevin and I sensed the attitude of the doctor, like "what are you doing here?" He told us to leave and there would be NO need to come back. He now weighs 1 lb. 5 oz., measurements good, and heart rate 141 BPM (healthy heart!)
Baby Boy is kicking like crazy these days, especially in the mornings and nights. Kevin can feel him all the time now. It is so neat to see the smile on Kev's face every time he feels his little son. I am so thankful that I get the next two weeks off to spend with Kevin. With our busy work schedules our time spent together has been minimal. Now he is done with the academy and will work 4 days on 3 days off. His schedule isn't so great over the holiday weekend, but that's what happens when you are new. At least we get to celebrate our 3 year anniversary together. Happy Anniversary Babe! I love you so much. My love grows for you more and more everyday. I cannot wait to have our little family. You are going to be an unbelievable dad.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!

Catching Up!
Our computer has been at the "computer doctor" for two weeks and we just got it back. Luckily I have an amazing Tech person at my work that fixed it and saved us A LOT of money.
It is about time I updated my blog with all the happenings since the big news about "Baby Boy!" I am officially over half way through my pregnancy. I can't believe how quickly it has gone by and how great I have been feeling. My energy has definitely come back. The belly is truly starting to make its appearance and what a weird, yet amazing feeling it is. Baby boy is becoming more and more active (or at least now I can feel it), especially when I am sitting and relaxing. The other night Kevin and I were watching TV and Baby Boy was going crazy. I told Kevin to see if he could feel him. He of course couldn't feel anything little until finally a big kick came. It was so awesome! You should have seen the smile on Kev's face. At that point he started speaking Spanish to him and I had no idea what he was saying. He is going to be an amazing Dad!
As you know we had our anatomy ultra sound several weeks ago and got to see our little man. The Tech said everything looked great. A few days later we got a call that they found a little spot on his heart and I was told I needed to get another ultra sound by a high risk pregnancy doctor. I of course, held back the tears on the phone and tried to ask some questions about it. A brief description was given, but I was told not to worry. "NOT TO WORRY!" This is my little boy and his heart. I immediately started freaking out, even though she said it most likely will go away. For several days I was extremely stressed and worried and knew I would get some more answers from my doctor at my appointment this past Tuesday. I can't thank Kev, my parents, and sisters for their support during these few days. It made me feel a little better when my sisters had similar circumstances with my nieces. After talking to my doctor on Tuesday she said the same things as the Tech, reassuring me not to worry. She said look at it as another opportunity to get to see your little boy. So in two weeks we will be going for a fetal echo ultra sound as a precaution. There is a bible verse my sis sent to me that has really comforted me (Thanks Nic!)
10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
