We LOVE Southern California!

Not many people can say they go to the beach and on hikes in January.  The weather has been absolutely gorgeous since Christmas and hot at times.  I love the fact that we can go to the beach in the winter.  It makes for a great outing on my days off.  This past week I took Reid for a walk down in the Dana Point Harbor and we visited Kev.  Then yesterday Kev, Reid, and I went for a hike right here on the trails in Aliso Viejo.  Today Reid and I met my sister and niece at Aliso Creek Beach.  It is a great beach to go to because there is a playground right on the sand.  Reid had a blast crawling after his cousin in the sand.  He was even pretty good about not putting things in his mouth.  We truly enjoy this California weather and are so fortunate to live so close to the beach!

Christmas Festivities!

We have many family traditions during Christmas time and this year it was even more special with Reid.  Even though he is too young to understand the meaning of Christmas, kids just bring so much joy to the day/week.  Reid was sick with croup and teething, but was a trooper.  Kevin also had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but was able to join us for dinner.  It all started a few weeks before with sugar cookie decorating with my family at our house, a visit to Santa, and a Christmas concert at Saddleback Church.  Then our cousin Christmas was the weekend before at my parents.  Christmas Eve we went to a Saddleback service and then to the Amundson's for a delicious Italian dinner.  Finally, Christmas day we went to brunch at my parents and dinner at my grandma's. Two days after Christmas we celebrated with Kevin's brothers and look forward to celebrating with the rest of the family when they return from Mexico.  We are so fortunate to have family so close, it makes for easy traveling with a little one.  Reid got spoiled by Santa and family, we had to make some more room for all his toys.  Christmas is not only a time to be with family, but also to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior!

Laguna Beach

For our Anniversary this year we all went down by the Montage Hotel and walked along the path.  We brought our lunches and had a beautiful picnic.  Although it was very windy, it was so clear and gorgeous.

Not a bad location for a picnic

Tis' the Season!

Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday and I love to start the festivities early.  Now with Reid, I wanted to start even earlier this year.  So, the day after Thanksgiving we were already putting up our tree and decorating the house.  It is a wonderful time of year to spend with family and celebrate the birth of Jesus!
A little too tired to help Daddy decorate
