1st Pumpkin Patch Trip

Yesterday Kevin and I took Reid to the Laguna Hills Mall Pumpkin Patch, "Pumpkin City."  Reid loved looking at all the pumpkins, rides, and animals.  I can't wait until next year when he can actually go on the little rides.  We took some cute and funny pictures (below are a few of many).  We all had a blast and look forward to taking him to the Irvine Park pumpkin patch next week!

R.I.P.P.E.D.

Two weekends ago I got the privilege to be in an instructor video.  R.I.P.P.E.D. is a class I have been taking at the Renaissance Club Sport since I joined the gym and it was one of the main reasons I joined.  RIPPED is an acronym for Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, and Diet-"The One Stop Body Shock."  It is an all around body workout.  It is a challenge and just an awesome workout in an hour.  Every three months they change the sections and music so it is always "shocking your body."  Terry and Alex, the creators of this program who are also our instructors at the Renaissance, asked if I would like to be a part of the Season 6 instructor video.  Of course I said "Yes!"  I truly love this class and was especially blessed to have it during and after my pregnancy.  The video will be shown to the over 2,000 instructors, from all over the world, that teach the class in other gyms.  A little nervous during the shoot...Absolutely!  It was a blast and was even better because my sister, Nichole, was in the video as well.  I can't wait to see the finished product.  Here is a link to the preview of the video (a portion of my testimonial can be seen).

Feeling Blessed

Two weeks ago I went back to work and the first day was extremely hard for me.  Yes, many tears =(  This past week was the first normal week of working 3 days, dropping Reid off at my mom's on Monday, and leaving him with Kevin on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Each day got a little easier (especially when I had my kids out at PE and my mom came by on a walk with Reid).  I think mostly because when you teach the days go sooooooo fast, not to mention he is with my mom or Kev.  When Thursday came around and I didn't have to go to work I was so happy.  As I sat there in the morning playing with Reid all I could do was thank God for allowing me to be a Mommy on Thursday's and Friday's.  Our family has been blessed with so many wonderful things: a beautiful home, Kev and I both have jobs we love, I get to work part time, and a healthy son.  I am a very money conscious person and when we contemplated me working part time I worried like crazy about paying the mortgage, the bills, etc.  We have always been debt free and I always want to stay that way.  Kevin just kept reminding me that everything would be fine and God would take care of us.  He for sure has not disappointed.  Me working part time was the GREATEST decision I have ever made.  At the end of the day it doesn't matter how much you make, but the memories you make, especially with your family and children.  God is truly AMAZING and I know He will take care of us.

Back to Work

The time has finally come to go back to work.  It has been an incredible 5 months home with Reid.  I was so fortunate enough to have that much time off...the perks of being a teacher.  It just started hitting me this past weekend that I am actually going back to work.  It definitely makes me sad because we have had so much fun just doing what we want to do when we want to do it.  There is a small part of me that is ready to get back in the classroom.  I might not be saying this in a month or so when I am bringing papers home to grade.  I just keep telling myself "only three days a week!"  I am so blessed to be able to do a split contract this year.  I will be teaching Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and my good friend will teach Thursday and Friday.  Everything worked out perfectly!  Not only that, I don't have to take Reid to daycare.  My mom will watch him on Monday's and Kevin will be able to watch him Tuesday's and Wednesday's.  Since I have to go back to work, this definitely is the ideal situation and I feel so fortunate.

These are some of the things I am going to miss when I go back to work...tear =(

5 Months

Reid is growing up so fast and seems to be doing something new every week.  Here are some videos and pictures that capture what we have been up to.  These past 5 months have been so wonderful with our little guy!

Rolling Over!

Daddy's Little Rookie!

Reid usually takes a 2 to 2.5 hour afternoon nap so I have had some time to rearrange some things in the house.  I was in need of updating some pictures, so we had our personal photo session in our backyard.

My two favorites (twins)!
Thursday mornings Kev goes to the Herd (Men's Ministry at Saddelback Church) and if Reid wakes up early he watches cartoons with Mommy in bed, this morning he passed out and took over the bed!
