1 1/2 and October!

It is crazy to think that I am now posting about a one and a half year old.  I feel like it was just yesterday I started this blog.  We had an eventful October with visits to a few pumpkin patches, fire station open houses, mini vacation to the desert and various other fun things.  We have to keep this little guy busy and we enjoy ever minute of it.  Today Reid had is 18 Month appointment (even though he is 19 months now)...he is a healthy boy and she was VERY impressed by his talking.  She kept wanting to say he was 24 months and had to tell herself...no, 18 months!  I was concerned about his eating because he really doesn't want anything to do with it lately.  She reassured us that it's normal and his stats show he is growing just fine.  So we will keep working on all those colorful foods and not frustrate ourselves.  We also had a discussion about his colds always turning into a wheezing/bad cough in which we have to use his inhaler.  She said we will see how the winter goes and if it continues talk about possible asthma issues at his 2 year appointment.  Even though Reid doesn't understand, but I was exciting to know that he is up-to-date on ALL his immunizations and will not have to get any shots until he is 4 years old (except the yearly flu shot)!!!  YEAH!!
Stats:

25 lbs. 10 oz. (42%)

Back to Work!

You have probably noticed from my lack of posts lately that I have gone back to work.  Not sure if I mentioned this in an earlier post, but I have switched grade levels this year.  After 5 years at 5th grade I made a big "slide" down to Kindergarten.  My first job in Irvine was a share contract in Kinder and I have taught Jump Start Kindergarten for 4 summer school sessions, so it wasn't anything I hadn't done before.  Being in 5th for so many years though, made for a big change.  I will have to say...it has been the greatest change!  Two months into school now and I just feel so blessed to have this opportunity.  I LOVE my teammates (one being my sister), the kiddos and the growth they show weekly, the schedule, and the work.  I truly liked 5th graders and the curriculum, but as a mom now, Kinder is the perfect fit for me.  I no longer have to worry about grading mass amounts of essays/papers when Reid goes to bed.  There is A LOT of prep work in Kinder, but I really enjoy doing those things.  The time that I am home (especially on the weekends) I can really enjoy myself and time with my family.  I do miss seeing my upper grade co-workers and eating lunch with my mom since we are on our own little "Kinder-Land" schedule.  I am still sharing a contract (working Mon.-Wed.) and it continues to be working VERY well!  It is always nice to be sharing a contract with such a close friend and we both have similar teaching styles...not to mention little kiddos at home.  So with all that transition in September here are some things we were up to during that crazy month...

Watching cousin, Jake, play soccer

Reid eating all by himself...messy, but that is the ONLY way he will sit and eat ;)
Lots and Lots of beach days...I am so glad Reid loves being outside as much as we do!

Notice the short haircut...no curls coming out the hat!

We love when Daddy gets to come because he can build sand castles and Mommy gets to sit and relax!!!
