Back to Work!

You have probably noticed from my lack of posts lately that I have gone back to work.  Not sure if I mentioned this in an earlier post, but I have switched grade levels this year.  After 5 years at 5th grade I made a big "slide" down to Kindergarten.  My first job in Irvine was a share contract in Kinder and I have taught Jump Start Kindergarten for 4 summer school sessions, so it wasn't anything I hadn't done before.  Being in 5th for so many years though, made for a big change.  I will have to say...it has been the greatest change!  Two months into school now and I just feel so blessed to have this opportunity.  I LOVE my teammates (one being my sister), the kiddos and the growth they show weekly, the schedule, and the work.  I truly liked 5th graders and the curriculum, but as a mom now, Kinder is the perfect fit for me.  I no longer have to worry about grading mass amounts of essays/papers when Reid goes to bed.  There is A LOT of prep work in Kinder, but I really enjoy doing those things.  The time that I am home (especially on the weekends) I can really enjoy myself and time with my family.  I do miss seeing my upper grade co-workers and eating lunch with my mom since we are on our own little "Kinder-Land" schedule.  I am still sharing a contract (working Mon.-Wed.) and it continues to be working VERY well!  It is always nice to be sharing a contract with such a close friend and we both have similar teaching styles...not to mention little kiddos at home.  So with all that transition in September here are some things we were up to during that crazy month...

Watching cousin, Jake, play soccer

Reid eating all by himself...messy, but that is the ONLY way he will sit and eat ;)
Lots and Lots of beach days...I am so glad Reid loves being outside as much as we do!

Notice the short haircut...no curls coming out the hat!

We love when Daddy gets to come because he can build sand castles and Mommy gets to sit and relax!!!

17 Months!

I probably say this on every blog, but "where does the time go?"  The months seem to just fly by with Reid.  He is now saying a few more words, running everywhere, taking one LONG nap, has at least 10 teeth and continues to be a GREAT toddler!  This summer has been a blast and I am so sad to go back to work on Tuesday.  We have loved going to the beach and the lagoon.  Just this week we went to the beach 3 times and the lagoon once.  It just never gets old....we love Southern California!  I am hoping for good weather in September so we can still go on Thursday's and Friday's (my days off).

15 Months and some...

We had Reid's 15 month appointment last week and he weighed 24lbs. 11oz. (49%) and was 32.8 inches tall (89%).  He is a growing and healthy boy.  Dr. McNulty was impressed how much he was talking while at the appointment.  The poor kid got two shots and not only that, his gums look like mountain peaks.  Two teeth just came out and I can see 5 coming out now.  Might as well do it all at once...right!!  He has been really good though, just a slight fever the past two days due to the combination of his teeth, chicken pox, and MMR shots he got.  Reid continues to crack us up and we have such a blast....He is all about playing with cars and trucks, enjoys books, and attempts to sing the ABC's (that's a teachers son).  We love you SO much Reid!
Happy 4th of July!

Woodbridge parade..open your eyes!

He could play with his cars ALL day

Loves to be outside playing with his water toy or sand pit

Summer is here!!

We have been soooo busy lately, with the end of the school year for me and the start of summer, I haven't had a chance to blog.  Reid is doing AWESOME!  He is such a great kid...easy going and fun to be around.  About a month ago he started walking everywhere.  We are all over the place and spend a lot of time outside.  He is now saying "Truck, Love ya, Hi/Hola, Tank you, bye."  He has 9 teeth and 4 more coming in...poor thing!  He LOVES trucks (especially fire trucks) and airplanes or helicopters...pointing at them outside or in the car.  We just got back from Las Vegas for my brother's 21st Birthday celebration (pics to follow) and he was so good in the car both ways.  Only slept an hour each way and complained very little.  I was very nervous because he is so mobile now, but he proved Mommy wrong and did great!  His favorite part was ALL the trucks on the road.  Here are some pictures to show what we have been up to this past month....
